I’m Yilin Chen, a UX designer driven by curiosity, empathy, and a passion for crafting meaningful user experiences.
My journey began with an interest in both artistic expression and logical problem-solving, leading me to explore fields ranging from interior design to landscape design, before finding my true calling in UX.
Currently, I’m advancing my skills in the Information Science program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m also honing my technical skills and applying them to hands-on projects that tackle real-world challenges.
In my professional experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work on AI-driven projects, digital platform designs, and even environmental monitoring solutions, which have taught me the importance of clear communication and collaboration.

🎶 Musical Enthusiast & Guzheng Player: Imagine a world where every day has a soundtrack! Musicals fuel my creativity, and playing the guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument, adds even more depth. Each song, story, and melody inspires me to bring emotion and cultural richness to my designs, creating experiences that resonate on multiple levels.
🌲 Nature Explorer: When I’m not at my desk, you’ll find me hiking, camera in hand, capturing the beauty around me. Nature’s designs remind me of the elegance of simplicity and the harmony of color and form, and I love bringing that natural balance into my work.
🍰 Baking Buff: Baking is my creative playground! From experimenting with recipes to perfecting a cake’s final touch, there’s a special joy in crafting something from scratch. Much like UX design, baking combines precision, patience, and passion. Nothing beats the satisfaction of sharing something I’ve created—whether it’s a dessert or a delightful digital experience!
